Axel Trolese at Steinway Hall, Milan
Review by Alfredo di Pietro
We live in a world conditioned by “hype”, by the temporary clamor that sees specialized sites and blogs in action, always on the hunt for flashes of visibility with which to invest people. But what happened last night at the Steinway & Sons Flagship Store takes on a different value from this logic. Listening there was a collected, silent and attentive audience in front of the young pianist Axel Trolese, an artist I have known for a long time, today mature and able to tackle any repertoire. He gave us, with the typical enthusiasm and generosity of youth, a varied and, it must be emphasized, difficult recital, organized by The Keyboard Trust, which has meritoriously supported talented young pianists in the development of their careers since 1991. An instrumentalist who does not arrive exactly quietly at this November Milanese recital, fresh from important awards such as the Casella Prize at the Venice Prize Competition. Not to mention his numerous performances in prestigious halls and festivals in Europe, America and Asia.
