Born and raised in his mother country Taiwan, Yu-Ning Chuang began studying piano and improvisation at the age of four. From 2010, Yu-Ning participated in numerous international competitions and won first prizes, including the Taiwan Qualification Competition for Japan Classical Piano Competition, the 21st Young Musician International Competition “Citta di Barletta” in Italy, and the 5th International Music Competition “sforzando” in Berlin. In 2011, at the age of 16, Yu-Ning studied piano as major with Prof. Lilya Zilberstein and harpsichord as minor with Prof. Menno van Delft and received a Bachelor Degree in 2015 at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg. Yu-Ning gained his Master Degree with honours from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2017, under the guidance of Prof. Lilya Zilberstein (piano) and Dr. Petra Zenker (harpsichord). In 2018, Yu-Ning was granted the award for the Top International Music Talent Program from National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. Currently, he is pursuing the Postgraduate Diploma at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the Artist Diploma under the guidance of Prof. Jochen Köhler at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg.
