On 28 January Alexander Romanovsky played the inaugural concert of the Keyboard Trust’s ten-concert season at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, organised by Fran Cruz Plaza, himself a pianist and producer. Critical comment is awaited, but the audience showed its own approval with a standing ovation. Meanwhile Jack Buckley wrote of his earlier performance in Rome in Il Foglio, “What Schumann wrote of Chopin would not be too much for him: ‘Hats off, gentlemen – a genius’.”
