The Keyboard Charitable Trust
The Keyboard Trust helps young professional musicians of the highest international standard, aged 18-27, making the transition from formal studies to a fully professional career which, for successful candidates, includes opportunities to perform in venues worldwide – and introductions and advice from its three Artistic Directors.
Young keyboard players wishing to apply should have a comprehensive repertoire of sufficient breadth, depth and imagination to be able responsibly to embrace international professional career opportunities. They should not normally be First Prizewinners of the major international piano competitions who have already been awarded multiple international performances.
We welcome applications from pianists, organists, players of historic keyboards (e.g. harpsichord and fortepiano) and players of any other acoustic keyboard instruments.
PLEASE NOTE
Applications to the Keyboard Trust have been suspended until 31 December 2025 owing to popular demand and a long waiting list.
Please check back here from time to time for updates. Thank you.

How to Apply
Applications should include:
- links to recorded performances offering a varied programme ranging from classical to more modern or contemporary works
- a CV (stating date of birth)
- a full list of current repertoire
- a covering letter explaining how applicants see their future career development and what they consider to be the impediments which the Trust might help them to overcome.
If the Artistic Directors feel able, in principle, to respond to the application, the next step would be to hear the artist in performance, preferably at a public concert or recital. Please include information about such events in your covering letter.
On approval of the application by the Trust’s Artistic Directors, the artist will be offered a ‘New Artist’ recital opportunity in London.
Applications are currently closed. This will be reviewed early in 2026.
