Alessio Tonelli began studying piano at the age of eight at the Palmiero Giannetti Municipal Institute in Grosseto under the guidance of Giuliano Schiano. He continued his training with Hector Luis Moreno and later with Daniel Rivera at the Musica Ritrovata Academy in Livorno.
In 2025, he graduated with highest honours with a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from the F. Morlacchi Conservatory of Perugia, where he is currently pursuing his Master’s Degreeunder the guidance of Mariangela Vacatello.
He has attended masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Benedetto Lupo, Cyprien Katsaris, Florian Noack, Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, Charlotte Hu, and Severin von Eckardstein, and has performed in major festivals and music series including the Orbetello Piano Festival, Recondite Armonie, Scriabin Concert Series, Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano, and the Festival della Tuscia.
Winner of numerous prizes in national and international competitions, including First Absolute Prize at the Città di Grosseto, San Vincenzo, Sinalunga – Ciro Pinsuti, Pianosinfonia (Lucca) and M. Giubilei competitions, he has also been awarded at the “G. Giannoni” Piano Prize in Piombino and the “Recondite Armonie” Competition, receiving scholarships and special awards.
In 2020, he made his orchestral debut with the Vivace Youth Orchestra of Grosseto, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2.
