Galina Chistiakova was born in 1987 in Moscow. From 1993 to 2005 she studied at The Central Music School, Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Profs. Helena Khoven and Anatoly Ryabov.
While at school, Galina won many prizes including the Third Moscow International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists (2000), the Seventh European Chopin Competition in Darmstadt (2002), the Second International Piano Competition in Memory of Emil Gilels (2003) and the Third Scriabin International Piano Competition (2004). She has been awarded scholarships from the Russian Performing Art, V. Spivakov, New Names and A. Scriabin Association Foundations – and made recordings with them.
In 2014 Galina completed her studies at the Moscow Conservatory. She is currently studying with Prof. Boris Petrushansky at the International Piano Academy ‘Incontri col Maestro’ in Imola, Italy – and has participated in masterclasses with A. Sandler, A. Bonduryansky, D. Bashkirov, P.Badura-Skoda, D.Pollack and M.Billson.
She has won many international competitions including the Maria Callas Grand Prix (Greece, 2008),the Tenth Concourse Grieg IPC (Norway, 2009), Andorra IPC (2010), Scriabin IPC (Italy, 2007), the Second International Piano Concerto Competition in China, the F. Busoni IPC in Italy and many others.
Since 2000 Galina has performed as a soloist in concerts throughout the world, and on radio and television.
Since 2014, she has been on the Board of Directors of ‘Recondite Armonie’.
In 2015 she will record her first CD with KNS Classical and Fazioli pianos in Italy.
