Born in Israel, pianist and composer Matan Porat had studied with Emanuel Krasovsky, Maria João Pires and Murray Perahia, and has a masters degree from the Juilliard School.
He has played with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and performed at the Carnegie Hall, the Louvre in Paris and the Barbican in London. He participated in the Marlboro, Verbier, Ravinia and Salzburg festivals and played with the Ysäye and Jerusalem Quartets, Kim Kashkashian, Renaud Capuçon and Dorothea Röchmann.
Matan has played for the Keyboard Trust in New York, London, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Verona. He lives in Berlin.
