Having graduated with the highest honours, Italian pianist Nicola Losito, 22, is currently studying with Leonid Margarius at the Imola International Piano Academy ‘Incontri col Maestro’ and with Massimo Gon at the Giuseppe Tartini Music Conservatory in Trieste.
When he was 21 years old he appeared on the Amadeus magazine’s front page featuring an album dedicated to works by Robert Schumann.
He has given solo recitals with the Solisti Aquilani, the Serbian National Theater Symphony Orchestra, the Klagenfurt Landeskonservatorium Symphony Orchestra, the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Calabria Philarmonic Orchestra, the Ignacy Jan Paderewski State Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana – and has performed in Italy, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and the USA.
Nicola has won first prize in prestigious national and international competitions including the National Piano Competition ‘Muzio Clementi’ (Florence), the 6th Isidor Bajic Piano Memorial Competition Novi Sad (Serbia), the International Piano Competition ‘Dinu Lipatti’ (Bucarest). At the age of 17 he won first prize in the ‘Silvio Bengalli’ International Piano Competition and the audience prize in Val Tidone (Italy) in addition to the Osimo International Piano Competition.
He has recorded two CDs for labels Amadeus and Movimento Classical. He has also recorded for Rai Radio 1, Radio Classica, Radio Vaticana and Sky.
Since 2017, he has been President and Artistic Director of the Italian Philharmonic Association.
