A disciple of the Russian Piano School Nikita Lukinov began his musical education at the age of six in the class of Prof. Svetlana Semenkova in Voronezh, Russia. At the age of ten, Nikita had his debut performance as a soloist with a symphony orchestra. At the age of fourteen, he won a full scholarship to study at the Purcell School in London in the class of Prof. Tatiana Sarkissova. In 2017, Nikita was awarded a full scholarship to study for a Bachelor’s Degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) with Prof. Petras Geniušas. He is currently studying for his Master’s Degree at the RCS on a full scholarship from the ABRSM. In October 2022, he was appointed as a teacher in the RCS’s Piano Department and is currently the youngest senior staff member in all of the UK’s Music Conservatoires.
In recent years, Nikita has performed as a soloist in the UK, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France, Poland, Croatia, Germany and Russia and has appeared at Wigmore Hall, Usher Hall, Southbank Centre, Kings Place, Fazioli Hall and the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow.
Highlights of the 2021-22 season included: First Prize at the Sheepdrove UK Intercollegiate Competition, 2021; Grand Prix at the International Competition ‘Tokyo Stars’, Japan, 2021; Second Prize at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, Spain, 2021. Nikita also performed at the Southbank Centre, the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh and at the Verbier Festival.
In April and December 2022, Nikita gave two fundraising recitals – in Shrewsbury and Berlin – in support of Ukraine. More than £10,000 was raised from these concerts.
In the 2022-23 season Nikita has given recitals at Steinway Hall in London, the British Institute in Florence, at the Representation of the City of Hamburg in Berlin, Hastings International Piano Series, Vaduz Rathaussaal in Liechtenstein, a ‘Celebrity Recitals’ concert series in Shrewsbury and also completed a tour of six concerts in Scotland.
In January 2023 Nikita won the Walcer Prize Competition at the RCS and gave his solo recital debut at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh.
In the second half of 2023, Nikita will release his debut CD on the KNS Classical label and will start an Artist Diploma degree on a full scholarship at the RCS.
This season Nikita is a recipient of scholarships from the ABRSM, The Munster Trust, Liechtenstein Academy of Music, HelpMusicians Postgraduate Award and Voronezh’s State award ‘For outstanding cultural achievements’. He is a Talented Unlimited and Live Music Now Scotland musician.
